The Department was holding an Association Inaugural Function (AMBAs –KAIZEN) on 09th August 2019 at our college auditorium. Dr.M.Pitchaimani, Vice-Principal, Srimad Andavan College of Arts & Science (Autonomous), T.V.Kovil, Trichy was a chief guest. The program starts with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. This shows the beginning of the program and the Chief Guest of the college share few words with all. He also tells that we not only offers the best in academics but also encouraged an overall development of the student through various extracurricular activities conducted and taught by their talented and capable faculty members. All the first and second year of MBA students along with department faculty members were participated in the function.This program really leaves a great impact on everyone. The AMBAs Secretary thanked the chief guest and others, the function came to a close with the singing of the National Anthem.
AICTE holding a Global Student Solar Ambassador workshop in association with IIT Bombay on 2nd October 2019 to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. More than One hundred students were participated in the workshop and gain experience in assembling the solar lamp kit by the help of trainers. On this day, the students were taken a pledge of non-violence towards environment.
AICTE holding a project on CHHATRA VISHWAKARMA AWARDS 2019, Category – II – entitled “How to Enhance the Income of a Village”. The department selected the village and project was done in the tile “SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD ENHANCEMENT OF REMOTE SIRUKARAMBALUR VILLAGE COMMUNITY OF CUDDALORE DISTRICT”, TAMILANDU STATE on 14th October 2019. Our project was shortlisted across the Nation and presented in the AICTE – Southern Regional Office, Chennai. The description of the project is as follows;
Background of the Project: Sirukarambalur village
is the poorest village in Cuddalore District, Tamilnadu State, Tittagudi Block (Village) is one out of 130. Most of the other blocks are dominated by the village. There are 130 villages in the selected study area block and out of 130 villages’ 01 village I did survey, the villages I surveyed and come under Veppur block is 7 km from Veppur town and it come under Veppur Police station. There is different category of people living in the villages such as SC/ST and other category people like OBC, General also. The Constitution (TN) Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and other SC/ ST is one of the prominent among them. This block is one of the Scheduled Caste /Tribe blocks. The villages of this block are backward in scenario of economic development, livelihood enhancement and educational development also. Most of the people of the villages are depending upon the agriculture and daily wages. Each house follows a homogeneous pattern. The walls are made of mud or stone with a number of wooden pillars supporting the roof, which is thatched with forest grass or paddy straws. Recently they are constructing their roof with tiles. Typically most of the houses do not have basic pattern of roof. In cropping pattern, Paddy occupies majority and less occupy of the area and vegetables and fruits under cultivation. Productivity for most crops is very less due to low input extensive nature of agriculture practices.
The Department of Management Studies received a one-day project on “INCOGNITO VISIT” to bank branches to check culture towards customer complaints in banks. The Indian Overseas Bank, Regional Office, Thanjavur assigned a project to our department and soon undertake incognito visits to 17 IOB branches on 20th November 2019. It also plans to undertake a review of how banks have implemented the Charter of Customer Rights. Now that most transactions happen electronically, record keeping and transparency is important. That can improve customer service and the redressal mechanism." Total 34 first year MBA students were selected and each branch two students were audited along with the team of faculty to monitor branch customer service and handling of consumer complaints.
The Department of Management Studies has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Trichy District Tiny & Small Scale Industries Association (TIDITSSIA) for promoting and reinforcing cooperation, mutual exchange of Information and Technological know- how, joint collaborative work in R&D projects, entrepreneur development, internships and placements, nd academic programmes and also exchange of experts and researchers. The signing ceremony was done at college auditorium on 21st January 2020 in the presence of the officials from TIDITSSIA. For the signing of the MoU, TIDITSSIA was represented by its team and Director of Management Studies Dr.D.Mahesh was present. The President of TIDITSSIA said that the company is also excited and look forward for a fruitful association with the department of management studies. He also added that this will be a mutually beneficial value addition to both the giants for a win- win situation. The signing off ceremony ended with a note to make this initiative as a role model for Academic- Industry Linkages
The department of Management studies carried out and presented a project at South Zone Student Research Convention (ANVESHAN 2020) in association with Bharathidsasan University, Tiruchirappalli on 21-22 January 2020. Our team of Second MBA students were presented poster presentation entitled as “Raising Income for Women’s in Vengalam Village of Perambalur District”. The jury was especially impressed with the high level of work engagement and the way in which the followers set about analyzing their data and then came to actions based on the information they had collected. Finally the jury also thought it was wonderful that the project then took their action list and presented it to the local authorities was really commended.
Makeintern organized 7th International B-Plan Competition in association with IIM – K, Kozhikode. Annual Cultural Fest (Echoes – 2k19). This year the National Business Plan competition was held at 31st January at IIM –Bangalore, campus and our department all five finalist were presented a business plan to the panel of juries. Total thirty five teams from colleges across the globe will be shortlisted and the students will be invited to present their B-plans before a panel of judges at IIM-B. The jury was especially impressed with the high level of work engagement and the way in which the analyzing their data and then came to actions based on the information they had collected. Finally the jury also thought it was wonderful and innovative ideas that the project took their action was really commended. Our college was bagged State First Rank and National Level Second Rank in B-Plan competition.
A one day Seminar on “A Roadmap For Summer Internships”, in collaboration with AICTE Internshala (Powered by Internshala – India’s Largest Internship Platform) on 05th March 2020 at college Auditorium. Prof. P.Prema kumari, Department of Business Administration, St.Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli was a chief guest. More than 250 management students were participated in this seminar. This seminar helped us motivate our students to pursue an internship during summers and improve our internship culture." In a nutshell, seminar was very unique and the insights provided by chief guest on the “Roadmap for Internships” served as eye opener for the participants. The sessions were very inspiring and there was an excellent interaction and deliberation. This seminar could positively enhance participant's perseverance, inquisitiveness for knowledge, and the leadership qualities through intern. Seminar was outstandingly helpful for the participants to think out-of-box, which could potentially help college in achieving the excellence.
“Startup Mela 3.0 was a maiden initiative of St.Joseph’s Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli on 21-22 February 2020. It provide a platform for “Startupreneurs” to pitch their ideas before potential angel investors. It is a two-day event. On the 1st day, the ideas of the participants will be nurtured by ‘Startupreneurs‘, industry experts, and bankers. Inputs will be given on business canvas and business models. At the end of day one, the participants will be ready to compete. On the 2nd day, the competition will be held between the participants whose ideas were nurtured on day-one. It is an opportunity for the aspiring Startupreneurs.

Our teachers constantly strive to stay updated by attending workshops & various training Programs. We take great pride in letting you know that our department faculty Mr.K.Vinoth, has handled a series of EDP training class on “Achievement Motivation” for TIDITSSIA, Trichy on 6th March 2020. The presenter who himself is a source of motivation to trainees gave encouraging examples from his own life and inspired all to be a self-motivator. He discussed the importance of positive thinking and attitude which brings optimism into life and such constructive changes can make one brighter and more successful. This program helped trainees to be guided by a positive mind and driven by self-motivation.
Mr.K.Vinoth, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies has been awarded the 2020 “MENTOR AWARD” for Outstanding contribution to the Trichy District Tiny & Small Scale Industries Association (TIDITSSIA) Trainees. He was honored on 24th January 2020 by TIDITSSIA officials at Tiruchirappalli.

Seminar organized by Department of Management Studies (DoMs). Srinivasan College of Arts & Science (MBA Programme) organized a One-day seminar on “How to Ace your Summer Internship” (Powered by Internshala -the internship partner of AICTE) on 12th March 2021 from 10.00 am to 12:30 pm in the College Auditorium. The seminar brought together over 190 participants from undergraduate and post graduate students. The seminar was presided by Shri.A.Srinivasan, Founder & Chairman, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Group of Institutions, Perambalur, Tamilnadu and inaugurated by Dr.S.Nivethitha, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, NIT – Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu and session handled by a team of eminent resource persons from the department of management studies. The seminar provided an interactive atmosphere between the resource persons and the participants. The Valedictory function was held at the same auditorium on 12th March 2021 from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm presided over by Dr.D.Mahesh, Director of Management Studies, Dr.N.Vetrivelan Principal of Srinivasan College of Arts & Science and Prof.G.Ravi, Vice-Principal of Srinivasan College of Arts & Science, Faculty members of DoMs, Heads of other Departments. Among others who attended the Valedictory function were the distinguished resource persons, participants and invitees. Earlier the function started with a prayer song by the class of 2020 MBA followed by the welcome and introductory speech by Dr.D.Mahesh, Director of Management Studies, Srinivasan College of Arts & Science (MBA Programme). The Director of MBA presented shawl and mementoes to the Chief Guest and the Resource persons. Dr.N.Vetrivelan, Principal of Srinivasan College of Arts & Science addressed about Internship foster positive relations between the university and community employers and often assists students in obtaining skills, experiences and contacts that will enhance their employment prospects and options after graduation and Prof. G.Ravi, Vice-Principal felicitated the program. The Chief Guest Dr.S.Nivethitha, Assistant Professor – DoMs, NIT – Tiruchirappalli, Tamilnadu delivered the Inaugural Address. There was a time of sharing where the participants shared their experiences in the one-day seminar. Prof. S.Bharathi presented formal vote of thanks.
