Summer Internship

Summer Internship Program (SIP) which forms an important component of education at SCAS-MBA. It is an attempt to bridge the gap in the student’s perception between theory in books and practice in the corporate world. As a part of SIP, students undertake a 4 weeks internship at any organization/company during the intervening period between close of Semester II and commencement of Semester III. Every student will be assigned a Faculty Guide at the beginning of the SIP. Faculty Guide is to enable the student to undertake a meaningful project, provide the necessary academic guidance, and to facilitate evaluation, with the aid of the company executives. The faculty guide would be involved at all stages of the SIP, beginning from ‘definition of the work content’ to project completion. It is the responsibility of the students to utilize the knowledge and experience of the company guide to complete the SIP.

Industry Visits

SCAS- MBA programme has widely been recognized by the industrial fraternity for its delivery of the course and the practical orientation and real time exposure given to the students. The core strength, the industrial exposure, by way of the field work raining/industry visit has given the programmes a differentiating advantage over the other institutes' degrees. This has been made possible by the co-operation and the personal interest shown by the staff of the organizations involved in training and molding our students and in bringing about a turnaround in their prospective careers. Students are sent to companies in batches accompanied by members of the faculty.

Case-Based Learning

Using a Case-Based Learning engages students in discussion of specific scenarios that resemble or typically are real-world examples. This method is learner-centered with intense interaction between participants as they build their knowledge and work together as a group to examine the case. The instructor's role is that of a facilitator while the students collaboratively analyze and address problems and resolve questions through business simulations like

  • Focuses on an interest-arousing issue.
  • Relevant to the reader.
  • Must have pedagogic utility.
  • Conflict provoking.
  • Decision forcing.

The outcome of Case-Based Learning will present about;

  • To provide students with a relevant opportunity to see theory in practice.
  • To require students to analyze data in order to reach a conclusion.
  • To develop analytic, communicative and collaborative skills along with content knowledge.

Invited Talks

The purpose of this invited series is to share various approaches where modest topics have been used to build engagement and promote a deeper understanding their domain expertise. The instructor had the overall idea of the breadth of topics desired and contacted speakers in those areas. The presentations would be geared toward their lectures. These methods enhance their crafted knowledge through various invited lecture series.
